Matteo Arnaldi enters the second round of the ATP 1000 tournament in Miami, Florida. Instead, Martina Trevisan and Elisabetta Cocciaretto were immediately out of the WTA draw.
Arnaldi (n.38) knocked out Frenchman Arthur Fils (n.37) 6-3 6-4 and tomorrow he will challenge Kazakh player Alexander Bublik. Trevisan (No. 61) took to the court with a bandaged leg and retired in the second set while trailing 6-3 3-0 against Australia's Storm Hunter (No. 3). Cocciaretto (No. 51) was defeated 6-3 6-4 by Japanese Naomi Osaka.
