Dragon's Dogma 2 review is on the way – great job so far

Everything we hoped for will come true in the full game after our latest demos: the story has gained depth and meaning, while the side activities have multiplied beyond measure. The professions, each with their own extensive progression system, are therefore diverse, deep and guarantee the immersion of the player in the world and the story.

The lack of fast travel is the only element that bothers us so far due to the considerable game distances. The reason is that due to finishing spirit An integral part of this game is that we do everything available in the area before proceeding. The quality of the side missions fluctuates between excellent and boring (but there are relatively few of them), so at times we felt that the game was dragging.

So far, though, the main mission, with its many access options available at every major narrative juncture, has us completely engrossed, not so much from a narrative perspective (so we're waiting for the conclusion to comment) but from a facets: the password of Dragon's Dogma 2 is an expression of its own way of playing, and its main story is the best example of the realization of this approach.

Pawns are another very important aspect of this game, as they are a kind of key to opening unexpected doors. These characters controlled by artificial intelligence which round out the protagonist's party, are huge helpers in combat and exploration (we'll dive into more features and customization in the review phase), but most of all, they fit into the story like pieces of a puzzle. With the right pawn, some missions will alternate unexpectedly, while with the wrong one, others will be almost inaccessible. Having the right adventure companions is just as important as taking the best weapons.

So far, we've only had a chance to explore three of the 9 (+1) classes available, and the strong identity of each is a sign that there is great repeat potential in Dragon's Dogma 2. After falling in love with him during our second preview, we decided to go the Archer-Mage route, following us through most of our adventure. The progression and development of this class is linear enough that you don't have to worry about it every ten minutes of play, but it's layered enough to offer important character evolutions on a regular basis.

The strength of Dragon's Dogma 2, we repeat, is that travels at the player's speed at any time. Rarely have we come across a title as capable of adapting to the player's desires as Dragon's Dogma. If you feel like making a mess of a certain section, the game lets you do so with a variety of absurd mechanics that will make you laugh out loud. Do you want a dark adventure full of mysterious dangers? The game offers you this at almost every opportunity among the available approaches.

Want an easy mission? There is (almost) always a way around the next obstacle through diplomacy, barter, or other devious methods. Dragon's Dogma 2 is a truly contemporary role-playing game capable of giving its players the authentic feeling of choosing their own adventure. Now all we have to do is actually complete the adventure to express final verdict on Capcom's latest venture, which hasn't made a single mistake in recent times.
